At U-250, we found a new way to bring competitive rowing to high country rowers like you and like me … we exploit competition-grade ergometers and then calibrate our training in both single-race events and the Unsanctioned-250 events with actual in-water rowing in area lakes, ponds and even swimming pools. Since our race is only 250 meters, we use affordable, folding One-Design rowing shells to calibrate to the 250 erg times.

Until now, your only choice would have been the all-erg route, or move to Boston, Annapolis or New York City and throw the dice on getting time in a University rowing program.

But now, as a Project Partner with Backpack Barge, we offer the full in-water and erg calibration to your rowing goals. Use our Concept II Model E research-grade erg, or use your own. Buy a ready-to-row U-250 folding rowers in your favorite pond or pool, or build your own. Buy training from us, or just do a monthly data-exchange with our gym to calibrate your training. We row for the same reason you do, because we love to row!

Experienced U-250 rowers
If your training is well-calibrated and you mainly need event feedback for your own rowing program, we are happy to do our full erg-feedback and water-feedback analysis. We guarantee that your Unsanctioned 250 event time will improve by at least two-tenths of a second. $240/session.

Moderately experienced rowers
Feel free to use our gym and the Rick Yukon training schedule as needed, on a per-lesson basis. Erg-analysis for one event included. Feel free to bring all the U-250 training schedules to your own gym or personal trainer. $120/session.

Beginning rowers
We are happy to introduce you to the full U-250 rowing and get you through the often-difficult first few months. Bring your U-250 training schedule to your gym, home gym or neighborhood health club. $60/session.

Pace Boat Board Discount
U-250 Golden is not just a rowing club, we also study U-250 training methods to share with U-250 rowers around the world. If you allow us to use your anonymous rowing performance data in our rowing research, then we can offer a 50% discount for your per-session price. Rowers who are new to the Unsanctioned-250 but who don’t live in Colorado, can benefit from your training results.
